Starz has added Shameik Moore to the cast of Power Book III: Raising Kanan, introducing him in the season four finale as the highly anticipated “Branford ‘Breeze’ Frady.” Moore will join the cast as a series regular in the prequel series’ upcoming fifth and final season. Power fans have heard the name “Breeze” since the first season of the original series in 2014, and they have long suspected the character might turn up at some point in the prequel series. Known as a drug kingpin from Jamaica, Queens, Breeze employed a young Kanan Stark, as well as James St. Patrick, and Tommy Egan, with James and Tommy as his corner boys. Street legends “Snaps” and “Pop” introduce Kanan to their nephew, Breeze, anticipating a new partnership opportunity between the two young men and providing a lasting tie between the prequel and the flagship series. 

House on Fire premieres June 5 on BET+. The 8-episode reality series offers an intimate look behind the scenes of modern-day Ballroom culture, inside the esteemed House of Mugler. Thirty years after the legendary documentary Paris is Burning, Ballroom is still a safe space for the marginalized, but today’s Ballroom world is bigger and louder than ever. It follows the relationships and rivalries of seven members of this Chosen Family. The parents juggle impressive careers while mentoring their children. The young ones play chess amongst each other to find their place in the House and make a name for themselves – ball by ball, trophy by trophy. 

Ernie Hudson has been cast in Boston Blue. He joins Donnie Wahlberg and Sonequa Martin-Green in the spinoff of CBS’ Blue Bloods. The series follows NYPD officer Danny Reagan as he takes a position with Boston PD. Once in Boston, he is paired with detective Lena Peters, the eldest daughter of a prominent law enforcement family. 

The Bondsman has been canceled after one season. The Prime Video series follows Hub Halloran, a murdered bounty hunter, who’s back from the dead after being resurrected by the Devil to trap and send back demons that have escaped from the prison of Hell. By chasing down those demons, with the help and hindrance of his estranged family, Hub learns how his own sins got his soul condemned – which pushes him to seek a second chance at life, love, and country music. 

Netflix has added cast to its upcoming A Different World spinoff pilot. Chibuikem Uche, Maleah Joi Moon, Cornell Young, Jordan Hall and Alijah Kai Higgins will star in the project. The series will follow Dwayne and Whitley’s daughter at an HBCU.

Scarlett Johansson will host the Saturday Night Live season finale May 17 on NBC. Bad Bunny will serve as musical guest on the late night series.

Prime Video announced a multi-title licensing deal with Glitch Productions that brings their creator-led animated web series to the streaming service. The unique deal will bring new audiences to the world of indie animation, starting with sci-fi horror comedy, Murder Drones. The fan-favorite series has garnered over 270 million views on YouTube captivating audiences with its unique blend of humor, horror, and survival in a frozen post-apocalyptic world with hormonal (and sometimes murderous) robots. All eight episodes of this darkly imaginative series are available to watch on Prime Video.

The 2025 NBA Western Conference Finals Presented by AT&T – the Minnesota Timberwolves vs. the Oklahoma City Thunder or the Denver Nuggets – will be exclusively available on ESPN platforms, beginning Tuesday, May 20, at 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. NBC has renewed all three of its One Chicago series. Chicago Med will return for season eleven, Chicago Fire will return for season fourteen, and Chicago P.D. will return for season thirteen. 

Adult animated comedy series Long Story Short, from the creator of BoJack Horseman, premieres August 22 on Netflix. The voice cast includes Lisa Edelstein, Paul Reiser, Ben Feldman, Abbi Jacobson, Max Greenfield, Angelique Cabral, Nicole Byer, as well as recurring guests Dave Franco and Michaela Dietz. The series is about one family, over time. Jumping through the years, we follow the Schwooper siblings from childhood to adulthood and back again, chronicling their triumphs, disappointments, joys, and compromises. 

BET+ has ordered Tyler Perry’s Divorced Sistas. A fresh extension of the Sistas universe, the series will premiere on June 9, on BET, the day of the 2025 BET Awards, and will be available to stream on BET+ starting Tuesday, June 10. The series follows five close friends – Rasheda, Geneva, Naomi, Tiffany, and Bridgette – as they navigate life, love, and the challenges that come with divorce, marriage, and dating. As they lean on each other through heartbreak and healing, their biggest test comes from within their own circle, challenging their loyalty, character, and true bond of sisterhood.  

The third and final season of Squid Game premieres June 27 on Netflix. Picking up where the second season left off, Season 3 explores the choices Gi-hun will make amidst overwhelming despair. As the Front Man plots his next move, the surviving players find their decisions leading to increasingly dire consequences with each round of the deadly games. This season promises to push the limits of suspense and drama, keeping viewers glued to the action. 

All ten episodes of Motorheads premieres May 20 on Prime Video. The young adult action drama series is about first love, first heartbreak, and turning the key in your first car. Set in a once-thriving rust-belt town that’s now searching for a glimmer of hope, the series is an adrenaline-filled story of a group of outsiders who form an unlikely friendship over a mutual love of street racing, while navigating the hierarchy and rules of high school. 

NCIS: Tony & Ziva will premiere this fall on Paramount+. The series picks up after Ziva’s supposed death when Tony left the NCIS team to go raise their daughter. Years later, Ziva was discovered alive, leading her to complete one final mission with NCIS before she was reunited with Tony and their daughter in Paris. Since then – and where we find them in NCIS: TONY & ZIVA – Tony and Ziva have been raising their daughter, Tali, together. When Tony’s security company is attacked, they must go on the run across Europe, try to figure out who is after them and maybe even learn to trust each other again so they can finally have their unconventional happily ever after. It stars Cote de Pablo, Michael Weatherly, Amita Suman, Maximilian Osinski, Julian Ovenden, Nassima Benchicou, Lara Rossi, Isla Gie, Terence Maynard and James D’Arcy. 

Docuseries Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour premieres June 4 with back to back episodes. The series follows TV personality Kristin Cavallari as she takes her hit podcast “Let’s Be Honest” on the road. Each episode of the series will feature candid conversations with famous friends, Bravolebrities, memorable exes and other notable celebs from Kristin’s life as they unfold the stories behind their buzziest headlines – and make new ones – with jaw-dropping revelations that set the record straight. With stops in Atlanta, Chicago, Boston and New York, the series also follows Kristin and BFF Justin Anderson off the stage as they explore local hot spots in each city with friends and podcast guests. 

Season five of LEGO Masters premieres May 19 on Fox. Hosted by Will Arnett, the fifth season features a new batch of talented teams and unique themed-out episodes throughout the series. LEGO Masters brings imagination, design and creativity to life when teams of LEGO enthusiasts go head-to-head, with infinite possibilities and an unlimited supply of LEGO bricks. In each episode, Arnett, alongside expert Brickmasters and LEGO employees Amy Corbett and Jamie Berard, will encourage the builders, introduce incredible challenges and put their creativity and skills to the test. Once again, teams of two will compete against each other in even more ambitious brick-building challenges such as a masquerade party and a colossal wedding cake build in the hopes of taking home a $100,000 cash prize, the ultimate LEGO trophy and the grand title of LEGO Masters.

Caught in the Act: Double Life premieres June 3 on MTV. Tamar Braxton hosts, helping to guide suspicious individuals as they uncover hidden lives led by their loved ones. Armed with cutting-edge technology and covert surveillance, Braxton, and her elite team of specialists hack through deception, unearth hidden secrets and unleash every tactic in their arsenal to catch those leading a double life red-handed. Kyla Pratt, Punkie Johnson, Reagan Gomez and Tammy Townsend will guest star in the upcoming new season of The Chi. Kyla Pratt will play “Angie,” Hannibal’s tough as nails wife, who doesn’t tolerate anything less than her home being happy. Punkie Johnson will play “Shawnita,” a career restaurant manager who’s here to whip Smokey’s into shape. Reagan Gomez will play “Candace,” a textbook lover girl gone bad who’s spicy new love interest is keeping her on her toes. Tammy Townsend will play “Nora,” a charming and scrappy entrepreneur who dreams of helping people through her business. They join Phylicia Rashad, Wendy Raquel Robinson and Karrueche Tran as guest stars. The new season premieres May 16 on Paramount+ with Showtime and May 18 on air. 

Kevin Pollak has been cast in the upcoming third season of Tulsa King. Pollak will play the series regular role of Special Agent Musso, an FBI agent who has an axe to grind. 

Nickelodeon has canceled Tyler Perry‘s Young Dylan after five seasons. Young Dylan’s grandmother decides to send him to live indefinitely with her affluent son’s family. The Wilson family household is soon turned upside down as lifestyles clash between aspiring hip hop star and his straight-laced cousins.

Teenage Euthanasia has been canceled after two seasons. The adult swim series aired its final season in 2023. 

NBA legends Udonis Haslem, Steve Nash, and Dwyane Wade, and WNBA legend Candace Parker, will join Prime Video’s inaugural season of NBA coverage, which tips off in October 2025. These additions build on the previously announced studio team of host Taylor Rooks, and analysts Blake Griffin and Dirk Nowitzki. Prime Video’s new NBA studio show, which will be shot in Culver City, Calif., on the Amazon MGM Studios lot, will complement game broadcasts and provide fans with comprehensive live NBA coverage all season long. 

Carmelo Anthony will join NBC Sports as a studio analyst when the NBA returns to NBC and debuts on Peacock this October. When Anthony joins NBC Sports in October for the start of the 2025-26 NBA season, he is expected to be in studio one or more nights per week through the playoffs. 

ABC News announced a daily show on the trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs, Burden of Proof: The Case Against Diddy, premiering May 9, at 5:30 p.m. EDT on ABC News Live. Hosted by GMA3 co-anchor and senior national correspondent Eva Pilgrim, the 30-minute show will be an in-depth look into the high-profile federal trial of the music mogul. The series will deliver real-time updates and analysis of the defense and prosecution as Combs faces federal charges, including racketeering and sex trafficking, to which he has pleaded not guilty. The first episode will examine the science behind jury selection and explain the charges against Diddy. The regular, daily cadence for the show will commence on the day of opening statements, currently slated for May 12 and airing daily on ABC News Live at 5:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. EDT through the end of the trial. Joining Pilgrim are chief investigative correspondent Aaron Katersky and legal contributor and attorney Brian Buckmire, who will be inside the courtroom during the trial. Their firsthand insights and expert commentary will bring viewers behind the scenes of one of the most consequential celebrity trials in recent memory. Pilgrim will feature additional guests and experts throughout the series to provide audiences with the full scope and impact of the trial. 

Roundball Rock, one of the most beloved and iconic theme songs in sports history, will make its long-awaited return to the NBA when NBCUniversal’s 11-year media rights agreement with the association begins this October across NBC and Peacock. Starting in October, the legendary theme will be heard again across NBC and Peacock throughout the regular season and playoffs leading into matchups featuring modern day stars such as Giannis Antetokounmpo, Steph Curry, Luka Doncic, Kevin Durant, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, LeBron James, Nikola Jokic, Donovan Mitchell, Jayson Tatum, Victor Wembanyama, and many more. Roundball Rock will also be used in promotional campaigns leading up to and during the season.

BET+ has renewed Diarra from Detroit for a second season. Season one followed a divorcing schoolteacher who refuses to believe she’s been ghosted by her rebound Tinder date. Her determined search leads her into a decades-old mystery rooted in the Detroit underworld. As the case deepens, she enlists the help of her coworkers, friends, and lovers – forming an unlikely crew navigating danger and secrets. 

Season four of Welcome to Wrexham premieres May 15 on FX. Things are kicking off as Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds welcome us back to Wrexham FC – and what is shaping up to be the greatest underdog story of all time. The English Dub of The Shiunji Family Children will premiere April 29 on Crunchyroll. The Shiunji family with their seven children reside in a mansion within Tokyo’s Setagaya ward. The eldest son, Arata, is tired of being pushed around by his five sisters and daydreams of a life without them. That is, until Arata’s father reveals a shocking truth—Arata isn’t biologically related to his sisters! The siblings’ relationships will be tested as they navigate life in this new light.

Gretchen Wilson has joined CBS’s The Road in the special role of “tour manager.” As “tour manager,” Wilson will provide support and guidance to the emerging musicians while they make their way across America, ensuring the tour’s success while sharing her own expertise and experiences on the road as a touring artist. Wilson also takes to the stage to deliver a performance of her own as part of the show. She joins Keith Urban, as the headlining superstar for the series, and Blake Shelton’s journey to discover the next big musician, with emerging talents (to be announced) opening for Urban at music venues across America. The series is set to premiere this Fall.  

Marry My Husband premieres June 27 on Prime Video. The series tells the story of Misa, a woman who has always lived her life as a “supporting character” in service of others. When betrayal by her husband and best friend leads to her death, she is mysteriously granted a second chance, traveling back in time by ten years. Determined to rewrite her fate, she sheds her former “nice person” persona to pursue revenge. April 29, ABC will push its new episodes of Will Trent and The Rookie an hour later to accommodate an ABC News special at 8. Will Trent will follow at 9, with The Rookie at 10. 

The CW has pushed the season finale of Wild Cards a week from April 30 to May 7. A new episode of Sherlock & Daughter will air after. In doing so, the season three premiere of Sullivan’s Crossing will now air May 14, followed by a new episode of Sherlock & Daughter. 

Season two of Kaulitz & Kaulitz premieres June 17 on Netflix. The Party Must Go On, even when dark clouds loom over paradise. Germany’s favorite twins are once again opening the doors to their world. Season two of Dan Da Dan premieres July 3 on Netflix. When Momo and Okarun’s beliefs clash, they’re thrown into a world of ghosts, aliens, and awakened powers. 

Prime Video has acquired web series Helluva Boss from the world of Hazbin Hotel. The network also picked up the series for a third and fourth season. The first two season will premiere on Prime Video this fall, with episodes continuing to be available on YouTube. Subsequent seasons will have an exclusive window on Prime Video. Set in Hell, the series follows the hell-born imp Blitzo (the “o” is silent), the eccentric leader of I.M.P. (Immediate Murder Professionals), a small, chaotic assassination business able to run thanks to a magic grimoire, and a complicated situationship with the demon prince Stolas. Investigative genealogy series Relative Secrets premieres June 2 on BBC America and Acorn TV. Hosted by Jane Seymour, each episode in this suspenseful new series will investigate an everyday American family’s darkest mystery, aiming both to solve the mystery and explore how it shapes that family today. Colorful characters, rich cultural context and dramatic twists and turns abound in every tale, each of which connects the American family to their UK heritage. Rotten Legacy premieres May 16 on Netflix. After a serious illness, a media mogul discovers that his children’s schemes threaten the empire he has worked so hard to build, and he’s willing to do whatever it takes to save it.

In order to stop this nefarious group from killing more innocents, the BAU is forced to work alongside an increasingly unpredictable Voit who has his own agenda. 

Tyler Perry’s She The People premieres May 22 on Netflix. Lieutenant Governor candidate Antoinette Dunkerson runs a successful campaign and now must figure out how to thrive under a sexist and condescending governor while attempting to keep her family in line now that they’re all in the public eye. 

The English dub of Teogonia premieres April 25 on Crunchyroll. Humans fight to protect their land from invading demi-human tribes in relentless battles. As his world is engulfed by intense warfare, Kai, a village boy from Lag, joins the fight to defend all he knows. NBC has announced the hosts and musical guests for the final three episodes of Saturday Night Live.  Quinta Brunson will host May 3 with Benson Boone as musical guest. Walton Goggins will host May 10 with Arcade Fire as musical guest. Scarlett Johansson will host the season finale May 17 with musical guest Bad Bunny. 

Fox has announced summer premiere dates for new and returning series. Season five of LEGO Masters will premiere Monday, May 19 at 8. MasterChef: Dynamic Duos premieres Wednesday, May 21 at 8 followed by the series premiere of Gordon Ramsay’s Secret Service. Thursday, May 29 will feature an all animation block. Bob’s Burgers will air at 8 followed by Grimsburg at 8:30. Family Guy will follow at 9 with The Great North at 9:30. Season two of The Quiz with Balls will premiere Monday, June 2 at 9. The 1% Club returns Tuesday, June 10 at 8, followed by the series premiere of The Snake at 9. 

The 83rd Golden Globes will air January 11 on CBS. Nikki Glaser will return as host of the live awards show. Nominations will be announced on December 8.

Thailey Roberge and Ava Marie Telek round out the all-star ensemble cast led by Billy Magnussen, Sarah Goldberg, Zach Galifianakis, Lucy Punch, Simon Helberg, Rob Corddry, Meaghan Rath, Paul Adelstein and Everett Blunck. Nickelodeon has renewed Rock Paper Scissors for two seasons. Season two and three will both consist of ten episodes each. Titular characters, Rock, Paper and Scissors, are a trio of best friends and roommates who lovingly compete over everything in hilarious but mostly wildly absurd ways. Throughout season one, the trio will go to extremes playing hide-and-seek around the world, running from the birthday police, defending the world from an alien invasion, going head-to-head with the Rat Bros and more. 

OVERLORD: The Sacred Kingdom is now streaming on Crunchyroll. Season three of And Just Like That… premieres May 29 on Max. The series follows Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte, Seema, and LTW navigating the complicated reality of life, love, sex, and friendship in their 50s in New York City. The Four Seasons premieres on Netflix May 1. Six old friends head for a relaxing weekend away only to learn that one couple in the group is about to split up. The three couples, Kate (Tina Fey) and Jack (Will Forte), Nick (Steve Carell) and Anne (Kerri Kenney-Silver), and Danny (Colman Domingo) and Claude (Marco Calvani), are completely upended by the news. Over the course of a year, we follow the friends on four vacations, and watch how this shake-up affects everyone’s dynamic – sending old issues and new bubbling to the surface. Based on the 1981 feature film of the same name, it is a hilarious and heartfelt love letter to long marriages and old friendships. 

The Narrow Road to the Deep North premieres April 18 on Prime Video. The series is a savagely beautiful five-part series charting the life of Dorrigo Evans (played by Jacob Elordi as a young man, with Ciarán Hinds as the older Dorrigo), through his passionate love affair with Amy Mulvaney (Odessa Young), his time held captive in a POW camp, and his later years spent as a revered surgeon and reluctant war hero. 

BET+ has ordered a Martin spinoff series Varnell Hill. The eight episode series will star Tommy Davidson, who played Varnell Hill in the original Fox series as a guest star. It is expected to feature new characters and some guest cameos. 

Smoke premieres June 27 on Apple TV+ with the first two episodes, followed by new episodes every Friday through August 8. Inspired by true events, the series follows a troubled detective and an enigmatic arson investigator as they pursue the trails of two serial arsonists. It stars Taron Egerton as arson investigator Dave Gudsen and Jurnee Smollett as police detective Michelle Calderone. It also features Rafe Spall, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Hannah Emily Anderson, Anna Chlumsky, Adina Porter, Greg Kinnear, and John Leguizamo. 

Jessica Capshaw will star in ABC’s upcoming 9-1-1 spinoff 9-1-1: Nashville. She joins Chris O’Donnell as series regulars. 

Laura Linney has joined the cast of MGM+’s upcoming comedy series American Classic. The series centers on Broadway star and notorious narcissist Richard Bean, who suffers a spectacular public meltdown and returns to his hometown and the family-run theater where he first became aware of his own brilliance. When he arrives, he is shocked to discover that his father, the former artistic director, has lost a step and that the once-respected theater, now run by his brother Jon and his wife has become, by necessity, a low-rent dinner theater serving roast beef and murder mysteries. He decides to save the town, the theater, and the world by presenting a great American classic on the dinner theater stage, directed by and starring, of course, Richard Bean. 

James Marsden has joined the cast of Your Friends & Neighbors. Marsden will appear as a series regular in the upcoming second season of the Apple TV+ series. 

Atsuko Okatsuka: Father premieres June 13 on hulu. Fans call her ‘Mother,’ but Atsuko is ‘Father’ – thriving professionally yet clueless about basics. A 7-year laundry hiatus and learning that marriage licenses precede weddings are just some hilariously relatable discoveries she shares in her special. 

Solo Leveling Season 1 is releasing for the first time in North America on Blu-ray from Crunchyroll on July 22. Special features on both the Limited Edition and Standard Edition Blu-ray and DVD box sets for Solo Leveling Season 1 include “The Leveling of Solo Leveling” documentary, textless opening and ending videos, a collection of character videos, and more. The Limited Edition also comes with multiple exclusives, including four art cards, a sticker sheet, and a 68-page art book featuring a never-before-seen interview with action director Yoshihiro Kanno, previously released interviews with the Japanese cast and staff, and hand-selected stills. Season seven of The Real Housewives of Miami premieres soon on Bravo. Alexia Nepola, Larsa Pippen, Lisa Hochstein, Guerdy Abraira, Julia Lemigova, Adriana de Moura, Marysol Patton, and Kiki Barth all return. 

The English dub of The Beginning After the End premieres April 16 on Crunchyroll. After a mysterious death, King Grey is reborn as Arthur Leywin on the magical continent of Dicathen. Mama June: Family Crisis returns May 30 on WE tv. This season, June fights for custody of Kaitlyn after Anna’s tragic passing. June also searches for a new, bigger house with Justin and works toward keeping a healthy lifestyle with new tricks up her sleeve. Away at college, Alana continues to wait for repayment from June and worries her boyfriend, Dralin, may face jail time. Pumpkin’s business booms with a new warehouse, a vendor event and a new employee – causing a rift with Jessica. Meanwhile, Pumpkin and Josh’s marriage is in trouble, leading her to make a shocking decision. 

Kevin Costner’s The West premieres May 26 on The History Channel with back to back episodes. North of North premieres April 10 on Netflix. A young Inuk woman wants to build a new future for herself after a spontaneous – and extremely public – exit from her marriage. Season four of BMF premieres June 6 on Starz. Season seven of Black Mirror premieres April 10 on Netflix. Charlie Brooker’s dark, satirical anthology series will return with six brand new episodes, including a sequel to the sci-fi adventure USS Callister. Lose your mind. Lose your reality. 

Season two of Call of the Night will premiere on HIDIVE this July. Wracked by insomnia and wanderlust, Ko Yamori is driven onto the moonlit streets every night in an aimless search of something he can’t seem to name. Daniel Radcliffe has joined the cast of NBC’s untitled Tracy Morgan comedy pilot. Radcliffe plays Arthur Tobin, an award-winning filmmaker who moves into Reggie’s (Tracy Morgan) mansion to film an immersive documentary about the former star running back. In the potential comedy series, a disgraced former football player is on a mission to rehabilitate his image. 

Unscripted series Got to Get Out premieres on hulu April 11. Twenty people under one roof, $1 million dollars in prizes up for grabs. Hall returns as Dexter Morgan with Uma Thurman as Charley, David Zayas as Detective Angel Batista, Jack Alcott as Dexter’s son Harrison Morgan, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine as Blessing Kamara, Kadia Saraf as Detective Claudette Wallace, Dominic Fumusa as Detective Melvin Oliva, Emilia Suárez as Elsa Rivera, with James Remar as Dexter’s father Harry Morgan and Peter Dinklage as Leon Prater. Neil Patrick Harris, Krysten Ritter and Eric Stonestreet are also set to guest star as Lowell, Mia and Al, respectively. 

NBC has ordered a new comedy pilot titled Stumble. The potential mockumentary series follows the ridiculously high stakes competitive world of junior college cheer. 

Emily Browning, Lukas Gage and Drake Rodger have been cast in hulu’s Prison Break pilot. The new project would exist in the same universe as the original series, but not be connected to its story. 

Limited true crime series Bad Romance returns for a second season March 25 on ABC. Ryan Smith hosts the eight-episode series that delves into the harrowing stories of individuals who lost their lives at the hands of those who once vowed to love them forever and examines the devastating consequences of obsession and manipulation, exposing the dark side of love. The series reveals surprising and disturbing romance stories every Tuesday evening, featuring interviews with individuals involved in some of the most shocking, deadly and obsessive love stories and twisted obsessions. 

Nikki Glaser is set to return as host of the 83rd Annual Golden Globes. The first major awards show of the season will air January 2026 on CBS. This year, Glaser made history as the first woman to host the Golden Globes solo. 

Season three of Jane premieres April 18 on Apple TV+. Ava Louise Murchison stars as Jane Garcia, a 9-year-old budding environmentalist on a quest to save endangered animals. Using her powerful imagination, Jane takes her best friends David, played by Mason Blomberg, and Greybeard the chimpanzee on epic adventures to help protect wild animals all around the world because, according to her idol Dr. Jane Goodall: “Only if we understand, will we care. Only if we care, will we help. Only if we help, can they be saved.”

Dance of Destiny: A Guide to Winning the Men’s Basketball Tournament will premiere March 18 on truTV. The hour-long documentary will delve into the thrilling and unpredictable men’s college basketball tournament – filled with buzzer beaters, Cinderellas and blue bloods – and how some of the best head coaches across the country are able to navigate the chaos of the survive-and-advance event, while inspiring their players through it all. The TNT Sports original special will feature interviews and insights from some of the biggest names in men’s college basketball including Naismith College Coaches of the Year Dan Hurley (2024), Bill Self (2012), and John Calipari (1996, 2008, 2015), AP Coaches of the Year Kelvin Sampson (1995, 2024) and Tom Izzo (1998), Nate Oats, Rick Pitino and Bruce Pearl – who have all led teams to the men’s college basketball national semifinals – and many others.

The CW Network will be the exclusive broadcast home of the 4th Annual Men’s HBCU All-Star Basketball Game. The elite college basketball showcase, featuring the nation’s most dynamic and talented men’s basketball players from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), will air live on Sunday, April 6 (1:00-3:00pm ET) from the historic Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio, Texas. The HBCU All-Star Game was created to honor the rich legacy of HBCUs and to celebrate the remarkable contributions of HBCU student-athletes and coaches in college basketball. Participating athletes will represent all four historically Black athletic conferences – the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, Southwestern Athletic Conference, Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association – in addition to student-athletes from Tennessee State University, Hampton University, and North Carolina A&T State University. The HBCU All-Star Game is designed to promote educational excellence, sportsmanship, and community empowerment. 

ESPN and the NBA have announced an update to its 2024-25 NBA regular-season schedule. On Wednesday, March 19, ESPN will televise the Detroit Pistons vs. Miami Heat game at 7:30 p.m. ET. It replaces the previously scheduled New Orleans Pelicans vs. Minnesota Timberwolves matchup. The Pistons vs. Heat game will precede the 10 p.m. matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Denver Nuggets on ESPN. Both games are also available on the ESPN App.

Docuseries The Gen Zone will premiere March 13 on BET+. Host, Jhone Lucas, takes the “Gen Zone” team around the country documenting the race to the White House providing a Gen Z perspective on the Presidential campaigns of Kamala Harris/Tim Walz and Donald Trump/JD Vance. 

Docuseries Bad Influence: The Dark Side of Kidfluencing premieres April 9 on Netflix. Piper Rockelle is a massively popular YouTuber who rose to internet stardom staging elaborate pranks, competing in absurd challenges, and making soapy “crush content” with her Squad of carefully cast “friends.” Bad Influence goes behind the glitz and glamor to reveal Piper’s former Squad mates’ harrowing stories of exploitation, cult-like manipulation, and abuse at the hands of Piper’s momager, Tiffany Smith. Through their stories, this three-part documentary series exposes the dark realities of social media fame and the fight to protect the next generation of creators from exploitation. 

Love and relationship series #Somebody’s Son premieres April 12 on OWN. The series is derived from the popular hashtag (#SomebodysSon) that celebrates the search for Black love, bringing the online sensation to life on screen. It follows three charming, single and successful men as they embark on a high stakes search for true love, looking for a lasting partner amongst a group of exceptional single women. But there’s someone extra along for the ride — each of their mothers will be joining them on this adventure, offering guidance, support and a little drama as they help (or attempt to help) their sons find the one. Through competitive challenges, bonding activities and heartfelt moments, the moms play a pivotal and sometimes divisive role in determining if mother truly knows best when it comes to matters of the heart. Each bachelor will be introduced to four women, all with very high standards of their own. The ladies are eager to meet their potential match but will be shocked when they discover that the mothers will not only be guiding their sons through the entire experience, they’ll also be living under the same roof with their sons and the daters. And unlike many other dating shows, even after the men (and their moms) think they’ve found their perfect match doesn’t mean the deal is done. These single women are independent and successful on their own, and the men need to prove themselves worthy of a happily ever after with them.

BET Africa series Pound 4 Pound will premiere on BET February 26. When Lindiwe Mkhwanazi takes a team of women boxers to a major tournament, she must overcome sabotage from within her own organization. Episodes will air weekly with the finale on May 21. 

Bocchi the Rock! has been renewed for a second season. The series streams on Crunchyroll in the US. Hitori Gotoh, “Bocchi-chan,” is a girl who’s so introverted and shy around people that she’d always start her conversations with “Ah…” During her middle school years, she started playing the guitar, wanting to join a band because she thought it could be an opportunity for even someone shy like her to also shine. But because she had no friends, she ended up practicing guitar for six hours every day all by herself. After becoming a skilled guitar player, she uploaded videos of herself playing the guitar to the internet under the name “Guitar Hero” and fantasized about performing at her school’s cultural festival concert. But not only could she not find any bandmates, before she knew it, she was in high school and still wasn’t able to make a single friend! She was really close to becoming a shut-in, but one day, Nijika Ijichi, the drummer in Kessoku Band, reached out to her. And because of that, her everyday life started to change little by little. 

Iyanu premieres April 5 on Cartoon Network, and April 6 on Max. The series is adapted from Roye Okupe’s graphic novel series “Iyanu: Child of Wonder.” Drawing on Nigerian culture, music, and mythology, the animated series follows Iyanu, a brave young orphan living in the magical kingdom of Yorubaland. While studying history and ancient arts, she yearns for a normal life – until a looming threat awakens divine powers not seen since the legendary Age of Wonders. Accompanied by newfound friends Biyi, Toye, and a magical leopard named Ekun, Iyanu sets out to uncover the source of this evil, unlocking her destiny along the way. 

Anime series Witch Watch premieres April 6 on Crunchyroll, hulu and Netflix. The series is based on the Weekly Shonen Jump by Kenta Shinohara. Morihito Otogi, a high school student who comes from a lineage of ogres, enjoys a peaceful, ordinary life until his childhood friend, Nico, moves in with him. Nico is a witch-in-training, and chooses Morihito to be her familiar. While Nico is thrilled to reunite with her old friend and crush, Morihito is tasked with the perilous duty to protect her from a foretold calamity. Between the unpredictable chaos caused by Nico’s magic, and the awkwardness of sharing a home, their lives become a whirlwind of supernatural hijinks and threats.

Prime Video has acquired exclusive US streaming rights to the first five seasons and upcoming seasons of The Chosen and new unscripted series The Chosen In The Wild with Bear Grylls. The agreement also includes theatrical distribution and streaming rights to new releases, about the crucifixion and the resurrection, which will be key components of Season Six and Seven of The Chosen, the series’ final two seasons. The fifth season of The Chosen is set to premiere theatrically on March 28, followed by a premiere on Prime Video in the US this June.

Tamron Hall has been renewed for a seventh season. The syndicated daytime talk show is hosted by Tamron Hall. The current sixth season has featured interviews and performances by Miranda Lambert, Quincy Brown, Chloe Bailey, Method Man, Dolly Parton, Sanaa Lathan, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Eve, Lil Rel Howery, Ina Garten, Jay Pharoah, Yara Shahidi, as well as a special live set from “The Reunion Tour” with Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams, Marvin Sapp and Fred Hammond. 

After episode 47 of Dragon Ball Z Kai, the series will start over again with episode 1 on March 8. The series airs during adult swim’s Toonami late night block. It reached the same point recently on adult swim’s Toonami Rewind block. 

The NAACP and BET announced that Former Vice President Kamala Harris will be honored with the prestigious Chairman’s Award during the 56th NAACP Image Awards airing live from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on Saturday, February 22, at 8:00 PM ET on BET and CBS. This year, the broadcast will be extended 30 minutes to 2.5 hours. The Chairman’s Award honors individuals who excel in public service and leverage their unique platforms to ignite and drive meaningful change. Past honorees of the Chairman’s Award include Amanda Gorman, Samuel L. Jackson, the late U.S. Congressman John Lewis, Ruby Dee, Danny Glover, Rev. Chelsea Handler: The Feeling premieres March 25 on Netflix. In her third Netflix comedy special, Chelsea Handler takes the stage recounting her own birth, unexpected encounters, her adolescent business ventures and a frenzy of ill-timed events all motivated by “the feeling”. 

Kristen Bell is set to host the 31st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards. The ceremony will air live on Netflix February 23 at 5 PM PST/8 PM EST.

The Family Business: New Orleans premieres on BET+ January 23. Big Shirley Duncan, owner of popular New Orleans club Midnight Blues, and her son Marquis, get dragged into a brutal power struggle between the most dangerous people in the city on both sides of the law, all wanting a piece of their business and land for secret malicious reasons. Fearing that her family may lose control of The Blues, Big Shirley sends Marquis to New York to see her brother-in-law, crime boss LC Duncan, who in turn enlists his nephew, Bounty Hunter Curts Duncan, and his highly trained niece, Lauryn Duncan, to help add some muscle and security to their family’s business.

Season three of Below Deck Down Under premieres February 3 on Bravo. Capt. Jason Chambers, Chef Tzarina Mace-Ralph and Deckhand Harry Van Vliet will return for the new season. Season six of FBI True premieres January 14 on Paramount+. Four part docuseries SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night premieres January 16 on Peacock. The series offers a behind-the-scenes look at some of the American late-night comedy institution’s most iconic elements and rich history. With never-before-seen footage across five decades of SNL history, the docuseries features insights from more than 60 contributors. 

David Zayas, Jack Alcott, and James Remar have joined the cast of Showtime’s Dexter: Resurrection, set to premiere summer 2025. Zayas plays Detective Angel Batista and Remar plays Harry Morgan, Dexter’s father. Remar and Zayas return in the roles they first originated in Dexter. Alcott plays Dexter’s son Harrison Morgan, the role he originally portrayed in Dexter: New Blood, the original series’ sequel that launched in 2021.

The Chef’s Garden premieres January 27 on FYI. The series brings viewers to the farm and into its industrial kitchen, the Culinary Vegetable Institute, where Farmer Lee Jones and his chef friends – some of the most celebrated names in the industry including Emma Bengtsson, Curtis Duffy, Jenner Tomaska, and Rachael Ray – use the inspiration from the farm to experiment and cook together. Utilizing the ingredients around them, the chefs create dishes ranging from beat granita with cured salmon and chilled corn soup to Thai spiced shepherd’s pie and crab meat stuffed burrata with roasted watermelon and tomatoes. 

Docuseries Devil in the Family: The Fall of Ruby Franke premieres February 27 on hulu. The Late Show with Stephen Colbert will air its first-ever post AFC Championship Game episode January 26. The episode will follow the series premiere of CBS’ new medical mystery series, Watson, starring Morris Chestnut. Guests for the episode will be announced at a later date.

Three part docuseries An Update On Our Family premieres January 15 on HBO. The series explores the complex world of family vlogging – a popular and potentially lucrative phenomenon in which parents post a steady stream of lifestyle videos on their social media channels to be consumed by loyal subscribers. The content often cultivates a sense of community and attachment for devoted viewers and can generate income for the vloggers. The fifth and final season of Sintonia premieres February 5 on Netflix. The season takes place four years after we last left Nando, Rita and Doni, as they face potentially life-changing challenges.
