Scream Queens Recap – Episode 209 – Lovin’ the D
Air Date: December 13, 2016

We begin with the Chanels working the night shift, per the request of Nurse Hoffel. Chanel is checking on a patient when she finds a mini-swamp in the hospital bed. She also stumbles upon a mannequin wearing a Kappa Kappa Tau shirt with tons on knives stabbed into it. Number Three and Number Five come to see why Chanel is screaming and then they are all screaming. Number Five says she understands the swamp in the bed but not the Kappa stuff, which is “very two years ago.”

Cr: Michael Becker / FOX. © 2016 FOX Broadcasting Co.

Chanel decides that they need to split up, reasoning that the killer can’t possibly chase all three of them. That’s where you’re wrong Chanel, since there are now a total of three Green Meanies. Cue chase montage. This gets a little confusing, so pay attention. These three run around the hospital, each one encountering a killer and thinking they are the one being chased. One Green Meanie tries kill Number Three but gets pushed out of the way by another Green Meanie, presumably Cassidy. That’s true love, being a killer but not wanting another killer to get your girl. While one Green Meanie gets Chanel on the ground begging for her life, another Green Meanie shows up who also wants to kill Chanel. During their silent argument, Chanel gets away. After an unsuccessful slaying, the killers unmask themselves and bicker about who’s going to kill who. Hester rounds up this unruly bunch and calls for a Green Meanie summit.

Introducing, Dr. Scarlett Lovin (Brooke Shields) from Lovin’ the D. She is the Chanels favorite TV doctor and basically everything they want to be. Scarlett is also a former Kappa sister so they can really relate. They clearly never miss an episode because they are in an unconscious patient’s room watching the show. That’s dedication that I can relate to. Dean Munsch interrupts to introduce the editor from the Northeast Journal of Medicine. That’s the same medical journal that Slade, the journalist from last week’s episode, worked at before getting slain by The Green Meanie. Arthur has come to the C.U.R.E. Institute to follow up on Slade’s (who is currently missing) ethical concerns about the hospital. He’s serious about this investigation and even wants to see the Chanels MCAT scores. The hospital could be in serious trouble if it was found out that they were working as medical students without any credentials. In order to avoid any more scandal, Munsch is forcing the Chanels to take the MCATs. “We want to be TV doctors, not real doctors.” Yeah same here, girl.

Cr: Michael Becker / FOX. © 2016 FOX Broadcasting Co.

Munsch brings Dr. Scarlett Lovin to the hospital and introduces them to the Chanels and Brock and they are totally freaking out. She heard about the parasitic twin surgery and was blown away by what they did. Scarlett wants this weird medical foursome to remove a sixteen-pound face tumor on live TV. Brock slips and tells Scarlett that the Chanels aren’t even real medical students which takes the deal off the table. The Chanels immediately volunteer to take the MCATs as soon as possible, so if they pass the surgery is back on.

Meanwhile, at the inaugural Green Meanie summit the remaining murders are being decided. Seriously, how is this the first time they have all been together? In a game show format, Hester introduces the segment, “Who Killed Who?”, we find out just what that title suggests.

Cassidy: Wolf girl, Tyler, Randall, all the Hamiltons, Chanel Pour Homme, Chanel #11, Chanel #9
Wes: Sheila, Chamberlain, Chad, poisoned the apple bobbing water at the Halloween party, attacked #5, Denise (who is probably still in that cryogenic chamber)
Nurse Hoffel: Chanel #9, Chanel #10, Slade Hornborn

The next segment, “Who Gets to Kill the Chanels?”, is what they have all been waiting for. Cassidy is willing to sit this one out because he has killed the most, but he wants to “take care of” Number Three. Unfortunately, everyone knows he loves her and he will be taking care of her in a different kind of way. He begrudgingly agrees to kill her but most likely won’t. Wes and Hoffel can’t stop arguing about who gets to kill Chanel. He even tries to barter, “4 Chanels for the price of one. I will throw in a Dean Munsch and I love her.” They all vote on the matter and come to the conclusion that Hoffel will kill Chanel. All of the killers and Hester together is so fascinating and weird, I could watch them a whole show of just them together. Spinoff, anyone?

At the hospital, Brock is trying his hardest to help Chanel study for the MCATs, but she only wants to find the easiest way to cheat. After she suggests they make out instead, Brock starts to strangle her. He thinks Cassidy must have left old tissue when performing the newest transplant, but Chanel says he was using both of his hands. She then goes to hide from Brock and Nurse Hoffel is in the room preparing a bath of fry oil. I wonder who that could be for? Once Chanel mentions the possibility of leaving the hospital for good, Hoffel tells her not to give up and that she has great potential to be a doctor. Before leaving, Chanel mentions that she has very bad memories involving fry oil. Yeah, Nurse Hoffel is well aware of that.

There’s a lot of hair, Snapchatting, and another devastating murder in this week’s episode. Spoilers are ahead in this recap of Scream Queens.

Scream Queens Recap – Episode 208 – Rapunzel, Rapunzel
Air Date: December 6, 2016

Without wasting any time, we are introduced to the C.U.R.E. Institute’s newest patient. Wes Gardner, Grace’s dad, has returned and we might finally be getting a connection to the first season. Wes has an abdominal tumor that needs to be removed and the symptoms started right after Dean Munsch left him. Flashback to the aftermath of the Wallace University murders, Wes and Munsch ran away together. After trying to diminish Wes’ relationship with Grace, Munsch left. Throughout the surgery, Wes is awake at his request, and Cassidy discovers his tumor is a giant hairball. “It looks like Trump’s wig.” Um, this is too gross for me.

When the surgery is completed we learn more about Wes’ condition. No, Wes was not dating someone who didn’t like to shave their “cooter” as Chanel originally thinks. He has a psychological disorder that causes him to pick out his hair and eat it. I really did not need the visual that went along with this diagnosis. Once again, Wes says this started because Munsch left him and he misses Grace who is at Stanford working on her Master’s degree. No one asked how Grace was doing because, well, why would they? Anyways, Wes attended a Tony Robbins seminar three months later which helped him to stop eating hair but had no idea it stuck with him. Seriously dude? You think you can eat that much hair and it won’t build up in your stomach? Wes and Munsch then reminisce about their weird relationship and he asks her out.

After this awkward exchange, Brock is clearly jealous but claims him and Chanel are doing great. Munsch says because he is unavailable, there’s a good chance her and Wes will be “exchanging a hairball or two.” They need to stop talking hairballs, I’m gagging.

I’m so happy that Zayday has returned from wherever she was last week. We see her Snapchatting to her “Zay-niacs” about the “gag for the day” is to cure all the patients in the hospital. Zayday also posts on Twitter and Instagram, with Chamberlain replying immediately to every post. If anyone did that to me, I would be seriously worried they were stalking me. They talk about this later, Zayday telling him that girls don’t like it when guys are too eager because it’s unattractive and desperate. Tell him how you really feel girl! As always, the conversation changes to The Green Meanie. Chamberlain thinks that the costume is so specific that it would have to be custom made for the killer. Zayday suggests luring The Green Meanie to them so they can get a piece of the costume to show local costume shops.

CR: Michael Becker / FOX. © 2016 FOX Broadcasting Co.

Meanwhile, Chanel and Brock are on another date and he is really trying to talk about his past. The only problem – Chanel won’t stop using the dog filter from Snapchat on Brock. She wanted him to open up more to her and this is what she does. The pair’s age difference is finally getting some attention, with Chanel thinking the iconic show M*A*S*H is mashed potatoes and calling Boy Meets World the best show ever. I love Cory and Topanga as much as the next person, but I wouldn’t categorize them as “greatest love story” of our time.

They decide the best way to solve this predicament is with some *bedroom activities*, which brings us to possibly the most awkward sex scene ever. Chanel keeps looking around the room, yawning, throwing in a moan here and there, and even Snapchatting! Earlier in the season, I thought that Chanel Snapchatting during sex was a throwaway joke, but I have been proven wrong. She thinks that because she’s hot, she doesn’t need to be good in bed. This causes Brock to see Dean Munsch and he accidentally calls Chanel “Cathy”. Oops.

At the hospital, Zayday seems to be preparing for a romantic bath for herself. I thought this was weird, but I should have known that this was all a setup for The Green Meanie. Did anyone catch the Easter eggs in this scene? As she is dropping rose petals in the tub, there’s two rubber ducks – a Red Devil and Green Meanie. Bravo, props department! Anyways, The Green Meanie shows up like they planned and is greeted by Zayday waiting with a taser. She aims at the knife, causing the killer to drop it and then get tackled by Chamberlain but then flips him into another tub. The Green Meanie picks up the knife and unsuccessfully tries to stab Zayday, getting the knife stuck in a storage rack. She then pulls the rack down onto killer but he eventually flips it onto her and gets away, but not without Zayday getting a swatch of the costume.

Next, we see Dean Munsch working out in her office along to a Richard Simmons video –leotard and all. Brock comes in thinking he has made a huge mistake by choosing Chanel, saying that even sex with her is lame. Chanel barges in and tells Munsch that Brock is her man, but Munsch replies that he will only be Chanel’s man until she decides to take him away from her. In Chanel’s attempt to annoy Munsch, she refuses to leave but Munsch doesn’t care. After a moment, Chanel finally leaves. Also, Jamie Lee Curtis was rocking her workout leotard during this entire scene.

CR: Michael Becker / FOX. © 2016 FOX Broadcasting Co.

Chamberlain has taken what Zayday said to heart and is now consulting the Chanels about this dilemma. Number Five would love if a guy constantly texted her, or at all. Poor thing! Chanel takes his phone and blocks Zayday’s number but also programs his phone to unblock her number at a scheduled time, only to re-block an hour later. Wait, can phones actually do that? I’m a millennial, I think I would have known about that. With that, Chanel has done her good deed for the year.

Zayday makes it the last costume shop within a fifty-mile radius but it’s already closed for the night. Upon showing the fabric to the worker inside, he lets her in. “Midnight green velvet pleather. Very exotic.” The shop owner tells Zayday that he’s made three Green Meanie costumes, but different sizes. He made the first one in 1986, the next a few months ago, and the final one a few weeks ago. Of course, they were all paid with cash and he doesn’t keep any receipts. The first and third costumes were purchased by a nice old lady and the second one was ordered by mail. All signs point to Jane Hollis.

Chanel is explaining her unfortunate sexual experience with Brock to the other Chanels and Number Three suggests putting in some more effort by taking sex classes. Please tell me that’s not a thing. Hester doesn’t think it’s about sex, but the cultural differences between them. She then gives Chanel the idea to plan a themed dinner party for his generation. Chanel calls Hester the “sharpest, most canny Chanel”, for the idea and for planning a bunch of murders and framing them for it. Yeah, can’t forget that.

CR: Michael Becker / FOX. © 2016 FOX Broadcasting Co.

After the shocking discovery at the costume shop, Zayday is headed to Jane Hollis’ house. She can’t reach Chamberlain because of the whole blocking thing, so she decides to go on by herself. This is not going to end well. Jane initially tries to slam the door on Zayday, but then she shows her the fabric swatch and she lets her in. Jane makes them some tea and tells Zayday all the reasons the police dismissed her following her husband’s death. Turns out, Jane had the first costume made and asked her brother to go back to the hospital on the anniversary and kill everyone. He was kind of a psychopath, according to Jane, so that makes it okay I guess. Her brother died a year later in a fight with a roller derby team but she thinks he probably deserved it. WTF lady. She vowed to never let the hospital open again and raised her son every night to think the same. They would pray together and promise that if the hospital opened again they would kill again. Jane is clearly insane, in fact, she admits to it and then reveals that she drugged Zayday. Never go on an investigative mission by yourself guys! When Zayday wakes up, she is strapped to a bedspring over what looks to be part of the swamp.

Wes and Munsch are having a romantic evening when The Green Meanie crashes the party. The killer flips the bed, traps them underneath it, and tries to stab through it. Wes uses his body spray (“what are you twelve?”) and sprays it at the killer’s face. The Green Meanie escapes through the window and Munsch thinks it was Brock because he doesn’t want her with Wes.

CR: Michael Becker / FOX. © 2016 FOX Broadcasting Co.

Brock arrives at Chanel’s ‘Greatest Generation’ themed dinner and he’s truly confused. He’s not that old, Chanel. She used the M*A*S*H connection to come up with the theme but that show didn’t even take place in World War II. Later, Brock shows up at Chanel’s apartment to tell her that he was offended that she would think he’s 80 years-old but also that it was a sweet gesture. Brocks wants them to commit to each other for real, including their pet names for each other: Brockie and Chanela. Brock then goes to Munsch’s office and wants a long-term affair with her while he is dating Chanel. What does Munsch get out of this agreement? Double the pounding. Romantic. They then proceed to get it on, on her desk.

Chamberlain is in the hospital’s basement throwing medical waste into the swamp when he sees Wes’s hairball. It has Green Meanie fabric, slime, and a receipt for a chainsaw in it. He goes to see Wes and wants to talk to him. Wes tells him the trauma from the Wallace murders got to Grace – she’s changed because of the Chanels and started experiencing trauma. He reveals that Grace is really locked up in the Stanford mental asylum. He didn’t think it was fair that the Chanels all got jobs at the hospital, so he deliberately ate hair in order to hang around the C.U.R.E. Institute and eventually kill them. Wes then tells Chamberlain that he is just joking and then to stab him in the chest, killing him. At that moment, Chamberlain’s phone unblocks Zayday and her messages are pouring in. Darn you Chanel and your phone blocking!

Everything is ramping up in next week’s episode, where Hester holds a meeting with all the killers to decide who gets to kill the Chanels. Brooke Shields is also set to guest star as Dr. Scarlett Lovin’.

Dr. Brock Holt’s hand is getting more difficult to control and Chanel #3 is motivated to determine what is really going on with Cassidy. Spoilers ahead in this week’s Scream Queens recap!

Scream Queens Recap – Episode 207 – The Hand
Air Date: November 29, 2016

Brock is extremely stressed, mainly because there are only two real doctors in this hospital and he is one of them. The problem with this is that the more stressed he gets, the more stressed his hand gets. As a result of overworking, Brock is also worn out which causes him to less control over his hand, which likes to keep him up at night. When Chanel comes over for an “elegant salty dinner and romantic bone sesh” and Brock has his hand duct taped to the side of his leg. His plan doesn’t quite work out, though, his hand manages to get free and pull a knife on Chanel. This obviously put a damper on their night, causing Chanel to leave saying that whatever they had was over.

Anna Plaisance is a new patient at the hospital who has an extra set of legs and arms from an underdeveloped parasitic twin. The surgery is possible but is extremely dangerous, so Brock is hesitant especially because of his hand situation. Munsch basically ignores all of this and has already contacted a medical journal about the surgery to gain more good press for the C.U.R.E. Institute. I guess it makes sense that you would want your hospital to be known more for the innovative procedures occurring there and not so much for a bunch of murders.

Next, we see Cassidy doing martial arts set to music for some reason. Chanel #3 comes to tell him that she has been working on finding a medical reason for why Cassidy believes he is dead. She thinks he has Cotard’s delusion which is a condition where people think they are dead or even that they don’t exist. This is a real thing. Anyways, Number Three wants to give Cassidy at psychological evaluation to test for the condition because she can’t see a future with a dead guy and they’re half-dead children. Cassidy says she’s being prejudice against dead people which she responds that everyone is, she’s just willing to admit it.

While there is no official test for Cotard’s, Number Three compiles her own test that is questionable, to say the least. But, it’s the hardest she’s ever worked in her life so I’ll give her that. The questions seem totally irrelevant until Cassidy is asked about how much he thinks about murder and killing people, responding with, “like 37 times a day.” Yeah, that’s too much dude. Number Three’s test also includes watching Cassidy give a urine sample and showing a slideshow of things that are dead and alive. The results are in and Cassidy’s spirit celebrity is Scarlett Johansson and he definitely has Cotard’s so he’s not really dead. After Cassidy leaves, Number Three reveals to Number Five that she left something out of the results – Cassidy is a psychopath with his most likely career being a serial killer. They both acknowledge he could be The Green Meanie but Chanel #3 is reluctant to turn him in.

Elsewhere, Brock is trying to get some much-needed sleep on an operating table when his hand forces him awake. He is totally over his hand causing all these problems (so I am, to be honest) and he tries to chop off it off. Being that his hand as a mind of its own, it is able to get away from every attempt Brock makes to get rid of it. The Green Meanie comes in behind him and Brock’s hand helps him fight off the killer with White Crane Kung Fu. Brock can’t believe that his hand actually saved his life and it responds that, “it’s you and me forever.” This is so weird, I can’t.

FOX. Cr: Michael Becker / FOX. © 2016 FOX Broadcasting Co.

FOX. Cr: Michael Becker / FOX. © 2016 FOX Broadcasting Co.

Next, there is another new patient at the C.U.R.E. Institute, Mr. Benderhall. He has skin growths all over his face and Number Three thinks it is just acne, like what Jessica Simpson had. Cassidy doesn’t think this could be acne and promises to find a cure for him. Easily the best part of this scene was, “My name is Dr. Number Three.” They really do believe that they’re doctors.

Chanel is talking to Number Three, Number Five, and Hester to get their opinion on Brock’s crazy hand. After their disastrous date, Brock told Chanel he is going to make it his top priority to not kill her. How romantic. While they all having differing opinions, Hester doesn’t think Brock is the Green Meanie-type. Hester also gives a huge hint about The Green Meanie to the others, asking Number Three to tell them who the killer is and how her love life has been. This was crazy obvious and I cannot believe no one else picked up on it.

Cassidy is in the locker room where he keeps his Green Meanie costume, seemingly preparing for another murder. That seems irresponsible, wouldn’t someone find that in there? Nurse Hoffel comes in and still planning to kill Chanel to avenge her sister’s death. Her plan is to annoy Brock to increase his stress level, even more, causing his hand to kill Chanel. After Chanel is out of the way, Hoffel wants Number Three to be killed. Cassidy refuses to kill her but Hoffel says she will turn him in if he doesn’t and watch him fry to death in the electric chair. I thought they were supposed to be on the same team.

FOX. Cr: Michael Becker / FOX. © 2016 FOX Broadcasting Co.

FOX. Cr: Michael Becker / FOX. © 2016 FOX Broadcasting Co.

Hoffel’s plan is in motion with Brock’s cable now only showing soccer 24/7 and his computer only good for pop-ups for male enhancements. Honestly, that would drive anyone crazy. At what couldn’t be a worse moment, the reporter from the medical journal shows up and Brock proceeds to slap him in the face. Munsch blames it on his hometown of Baltimore and slaps Brock, calling it “an old Baltimorean custom.” Once again, Brock tries to tell Munsch that the surgery can’t be done because Anna’s heart is failing. Munsch decides that they will find a new heart for her along with removing the parasitic twin.

Chanel #10, One of the extra Chanels who has Marfan syndrome, is talking with her mom on the phone when the Green Meanie comes up behind her and strangles her with her pearls. The killer checks her pulse before retreating. Turns out, Extra Chanel is brain dead, her heart wasn’t damaged in the attack, and she’s a perfect match for Anna. Definitely suspicious. Even the ink on her organ donor form is still smudging and it seems like Munsch may have been behind this attack.

Meanwhile, Cassidy believes that Mr. Benderhall has been poisoned by Russians with the chemical dioxin. After some research, they believe his girlfriend, Shelly, poisoned him. She works at a place called “Nice Guy Chemicals,” and could have easily got dioxin. Cassidy proposes that Munchausen syndrome by proxy. Shelly has been making her boyfriend sick so she can receive sympathy for taking care of him. Mr. Benderhall confesses that he’s been poisoning myself because she has been driving him insane. He bought some dioxin thinking if he got sick and ugly she would leave him, but it only made her be even more clingy. After breaking up with Shelly, he receives medication that will left draw the dioxin out of his system.

FOX. Cr: Michael Becker / FOX. © 2016 FOX Broadcasting Co.

FOX. Cr: Michael Becker / FOX. © 2016 FOX Broadcasting Co.

While working on this case, Cassidy and Number Three reveal that they love each other, but that won’t stop Cassidy from killing Chanel. Now knowing that he is The Green Meanie, Number Three decides to focus on distracting him every time he thinks about killing someone. After witnessing the shocking lengths that Mr. Benderhall went to get Shelly away from him, Number Three doesn’t believe in true love and thinks about turning Cassidy in, which he responds that he might kill her. Later, Cassidy apologizes for how they left things and he promises not to murder her or Chanel. He can’t tell Number Three who the other killer is but he’s not the only one. Before walking away, he promises that he will make sure everything will be okay in the end.

Talk about an emotional rollercoaster!

Brock tries again to get Munsch to cancel Anna’s surgery, but his appearance is distracting. His is covered in blood from a patient and thankfully not from a murder or anything along those lines. His hand is going crazy because he’s stressed, not sleeping, and performing the most complex procedure in the history of modern medicine. Yup, that makes sense. Munsch doesn’t give in so Brock decides he will do the surgery with his killer hand tied behind his back. Before leaving, Brock’s hand attempts to strangle Munsch.

FOX. Cr: Michael Becker / FOX. © 2016 FOX Broadcasting Co.

FOX. Cr: Michael Becker / FOX. © 2016 FOX Broadcasting Co.

While prepping for Anna’s surgery, Munsch and the reporter are closely watching Brock and Cassidy. Brock’s crazy hand gets belted behind his back and he really is doing a major surgery with only one hand. Wow okay. After all the extra limbs have been removed, Brock begins work on the patient’s heart for transplant. His hand is getting increasingly fidgety so Brock thinks he can’t do it anymore and wants Cassidy to finish. He’s still holding the donor heart in his hand and looks like he’s about to have a panic attack. Brock tells Chanel about a song his au pair would sing to him that would always calm him down – 99 Red Balloons. Number Five makes an important note that this song came out when he was 20 years-old and he still had an au pair putting him to bed. Yeah that’s weird, but this is quickly ignored and the Chanels start singing. Brock can get the donor heart in and successfully performs the transplant.

The reporter is walking around the basement on the phone saying that things at this hospital are weird and he might have stumbled upon a medical ethics scandal. He saw Hester from the Netflix documentary, everyone thinks they are a doctor without any credentials, he sees Denise in the cryo chamber, among others. It’s about time someone called them out for this. The Green Meanie comes up behind him and stabs him in the back, killing him. Is it important that both Green Meanie victims in the episode were talking on the phone? Probably not.

In the locker room, Cassidy brings an extra hand from Anna’s surgery to Brock and offers to swap out his hand as congratulations for a successful surgery. Cassidy claims to have been practicing and studying hand transplants and Brock agrees. Later, we see Chanel and Brock in bed and his newly bandaged hand moves and writes “Kill Chanel” on a nearby notepad.

Next week episode brings back Grace’s dad and I can only imagine what that will entail.

We begin with Dean Munsch educating the hospital staff on blood that is acceptable and unacceptable. Apparently, the only blood supply available at the hospital is blood from the murders that has been mopped up and put into bags. One blood bag even contained a mouse. Gross. On a positive note, this has really helped Chanel #3 get into recycling. As a result, from this blood shortage, they are going to have a blood drive. Certified phlebotomist, Chanel Oberlin is very excited to finally get a chance to “flex her phlebotomy muscles.” Chanel even offers up a slogan for the blood drive, “we’ve lost a lot of blood, so donate yours.” That’s a great thought but maybe not the best message to send, Chanel.

Meanwhile, we finally get a glimpse at Ingrid Hoffel’s backstory and the character’s connection to the first season of Scream Queens. Her maiden name is Bean, as in Agatha Bean the housekeeper of Kappa Kappa Tau whose faced was fried off by Chanel. Yeah, Nurse Hoffel is seeking revenge for the death of her sister and only took a job at the C.U.R.E. Institute to get close to the Chanels. She doesn’t want to kill them (yet) but wants to make their lives hell, mainly by calling The Green Meanie tip line and saying the Chanels are the killers. Thankfully, another serial killer popped up to make her job a little easier.  Hoffel announces that the blood drive will act as a contest, with the employee that gets the most blood winning a paid trip to Blood Island. Turns out, Blood Island is a remote jungle that has giant flesh-eating spiders. Uh, thanks for that visual.

While Zayday is taking Chanel #5’s blood, she has a revelation that might help them find the baby in the belly. We get a nice science lesson this week that a person’s blood type and Rhesus factor is inherited from their parents. If everyone in the hospital donates blood and they learn Jane Hollis’s (wife of the guy that was dumped in the swamp in 1985) blood type, they reduce their list of suspects.

Brock and Chanel are heating up again, but before they “exchange any bodily fluids”, he wants her to get a full, 217 page, STD check. Brock says he is only doing this because he cares so much for Chanel, which she totally falls for and agrees to get tested. When the results come back, it’s less than ideal. Chanel basically has every STD under the sun complete with a real crab floating in her sample. Munsch tells her because of this, her blood has to be removed from the blood drive. Unfortunately, this puts Munsch in the lead and goes against Hoffel’s plan for revenge. In an amazing slow-mo run, Munsch takes Chanel’s lead away from the board keeping track of the blood drive. This scene is so extra, but so necessary at the same time.

Hester finally re-emerges standing over Chanel’s bed with a huge knife. She’s bored sitting around their apartment all day and when she gets bored she starts “to think of ways of how to murder people!” Because that’s normal. Chanel confesses to Munsch that Hester has been living with them. Munsch agrees not to turn them into the police because Chanel knows about Denise being put in the cryogenic freezer. In order to keep Hester from killing more people, Munch gives her a job at the hospital. To stay out of her basement cage, Hester has to be successful at diagnosing and treating patients.

Hester’s first patient is Brandon who is dressed like a vampire. Brandon tells them that he is actually a vampire, like his skin blisters in the sunlight, he hates garlic and everything. He even has a guy at the Red Cross that gets him blood. Later, we see that Hester believes she has found a cure for Brandon who is suffering from non-acute porphyria, which is incurable. This disease causes some serious vampire-like symptoms, but it is not the reason for Brandon wanting to drink blood obsessively. Hester’s plan is to use aversion therapy and have Brandon drink blood until he’s sick of it.

All the Chanels are gathered to give blood, with Number Five on her ninth pint of blood in the last two days. Chanel is basically holding them all hostage to ensure that she wins the blood drive and a vacation with Brock aka Dr. Hot. One of the extra Chanels can’t believe this blood drive is being treated as so important when there’s a serial killer on the loose, but Chanel #5 offer up some wisdom. “Once you’ve been targeted by your first serial killer, you sort of just realize that walking around constantly terrified isn’t gonna help anything at all.” Chanel #9 is the only one not hooked up to give blood because she is terrified of needles. She literally runs out of the room, meaning that Number Five has to give even more blood.

Elsewhere, Zayday is actually being productive and goes to visit Jane in hopes of getting a blood sample. Zayday claims it would be for the blood drive and she can take it at her house, “like Dominos for blood.” Jane doesn’t fall for this and makes a great point that it wouldn’t be like Dominos because instead of getting pizza, Zayday “would be taking blood from my body.” If only Zayday brought a pizza with her it would have really helped her argument.

Chanel really doesn’t want to lose the blood drive, so she goes to another blood drive where she steals multiple pints of blood. Seriously. Once she goes to put it away, she discovers all of the blood she previously collected is gone. Chanel sees a blood trail on the ground and follows it to Brandon’s room in the hospital. Hester made a plethora of blood infused foods using Chanel’s collections from the blood drive. Munsch tells her to stop with this crazy treatment and to find another way by morning or she’s going back in her cage.

Chanel is desperately trying to find more blood and forces Number Nine to donate, she even ties her down. Being that Chanel is a phenomenal phlebotomist, Chanel #9 successfully starts giving blood. Chanel sees Brock and leaves to tell him that Munsch manipulated her blood sample so the results were not right. Brock insists that he doesn’t want to do anything with her until he knows she’s completely healthy, which would need to be proven.

While Chanel is preoccupied with Brock, The Green Meanie bursts into the room where Chanel #9 is giving blood and starts to prepare more needles. Nurse Hoffel comes in but tells the killer to carry on and that she wants to work together. The Green Meanie is revealed to be … Cassidy Cascade! The baby in the belly is indeed The Green Meanie or at least one of them. Cassidy hasn’t killed every victim but he doesn’t know who the other killer is. Hoffel warns him not to touch the Chanels so she can handle them herself. In their first murder collaboration, they kill Number Nine by draining all of her blood. Teamwork makes the dream work!

When they find Number Nine’s body, Munsch thinks Hester killed her because she needed the blood for Brandon. Hester is still feeding, a now unwilling Brandon, blood so I guess she helped him with that problem. Hester is actually using Chanel’s blood, which she checked and it’s clean.

Nonetheless, with Chanel #9’s blood, Chanel has won the blood drive. She doesn’t want when she realizes she’s not flying on a chartered plane, so instead asks for the cash equivalency to go somewhere else. Nurse Hoffel didn’t really think this through and maxed out her credit card in order to pay for this trip so she has nothing else to offer. Better luck next time, Hoffel!

The episode ends with Chamberlain finds out that Jane’s blood type is O positive, as was her husband’s, meaning the baby in the belly would also be type O negative. We then see Cassidy changing the label on his blood donation with Brock’s. Because he is now the prime suspect, Brock’s killer hand starts to get angry and smashes a table. Finally, Cassidy gifts a Green Meanie costume to Nurse Hoffel and now there is a total of three Green Meanies roaming the hospital.

Stay tuned for next week’s episode where Chanel is in grave danger and includes more of Brock’s serial killer hand.

Scream Queens Recap: Chanel Pour Homme-Icide
Air Date: November 15, 2016

We’ve been waiting and waiting to find out the fates of Denise Hemphill and Chanel #5 (shout out to the World Series and the Election) and the day has finally come! In case you need a reminder, these two were attacked by The Green Meanie and basically left for dead. We pick up right where we left off, with Dean Munsch, Chanel Oberlin, Zayday, and Chanel #3 discovering the horrific scene. Even from the other wing of the hospital, Chanel heard Number Five’s screams because she’s drawn to her pain “like a shark to blood in the water.”

Munsch declares Denise dead (R.I.P. Special Agent Hemphill) and, like always, no one is paying any attention to Number Five. Munsch wants to throw Denise’s body into the swamp because she is becoming more worried the hospital will shut down before a cure is found for her disease. I get why Munsch is upset, but you guys really need to stop throwing people in that swamp. They all get distracted by distant screams, leaving Number Five, and they stumble upon a bunch of dead Alexander Hamiltons and vines hanging from the ceiling. This is the last straw for Munsch, who decides to call the authorities, but first asks Zayday to help her with something. It turns out that Denise is still alive (!!!) but basically brain dead. Instead of dumping her in the swamp, Munsch and Zayday to put her in a cryogenic chamber, courtesy of the Radwell family fortune. So long for now, Denise.

Good news and bad news for Chanel—she peed out all the blue, but now looks like a “blonde baboon” because her butt is still blue. Brock claims he still has no idea who tampered with his silver solution, but that it could have been anyone. Chanel believes Dean Munsch was the culprit with the motive to have Brock all to herself. Brock goes on to explain that “the only reason I got busy with Munch was because I thought I lost a chance with you.” Aww. Chanel needs time to mourn but not that much because she has “zero emotional object permanence.”

Because of the multitude of murders at the C.U.R.E. Institute, Munsch thinks the hospital is done for, until the unthinkable happens the following week. All of the free publicity the hospital got actually made the C.U.R.E. Institute thrive, with heaps new patients with incurable ailments coming in. This includes a woman who works for the United Nations, who can’t seem to maintain only one accent. During this scene, the women shifts her accent from British, Norwegian, French, Australian, Russian, and even an offensive Indian accent. Cassidy and Number Three discover that she suffers from Foreign Accent Syndrome and is cured simply with an injection. Brock, Cassidy, and Number Three start picking up different accents and are suffering from Madonna syndrome which they discover is contagious. It’s super fun to watch the actor play with different accents during the episode. In the end, they can be cured by watching movies all weekend that feature American accents, but Cassidy suspiciously bails.

Meanwhile, Nurse Ingrid Hoffel is making Chanel and Number Three’s lives awful (pun intended), forcing them to clean bedpans and catheters. Ingrid really hates the Chanels and I can’t help but think it’s not only because they are not qualified to be working at the hospital, as she claims. Upon leaving, Ingrid gives the pair even grosser tasks—straining fecal samples and retrieving a semen sample from a guy in a coma. Also, is it possible Ingrid could actually be a Chanel? Her demeanor and departing “catch you later, bitches”, is eerily similar.

Chanel decides to “have a will to live” they need more Chanels to boss around. She has the idea to recruit pledges and make turn them into minions, using the logic that you always need to have less attractive people surround you. Chanel also believes The Green Meanie would want to kill the new Chanels before they even touched her or Number Three. Unfortunately, no one really wants to be a Chanel so they start recruiting patients who aren’t too thrilled either. Needing more Chanels, they decide they must call Tristan. Tristan is Chanel obsessed and even wrote lesbian fan-fiction about the Chanels during their murder trial. Chanel introduces the new Chanels—Number Seven, Number Eight, and Tristan/Chanel Pour Homme. Number Five argues that having a Chanel that is “male and gay” is against the rules, but Chanel doesn’t think it matters because now they all have human shields.

Zayday addresses her concerns to Munsch about Chamberlain being “the baby in the belly” from 1985. Here’s where things get suspicious: Munsch didn’t even hire Chamberlain. When asked about this, Chamberlain responds that he just enjoys helping people. Zayday enlists Chanel #5 for help to find the baby’s mother and after finding her address from her husband’s Missing Persons report, they decide to pay her a visit. Apparently, Jane hasn’t seen her son in years and she has never remarried or had more children. When asked about she thinks happened that night in 1985, she’s certain that her husband’s body was dumped in the swamp. Zayday tells Number Five that Chamberlain can’t possibly be Jane’s son because she’s white. Before leaving they spot a photo of Jane and her husband proving that the baby would be bi-racial and could still be Chamberlain.

While working the graveyard shift, Chanel hears creepy moaning and discovers Hester (seriously, where has she been this whole time?) who wants to rejoin the Chanels. Against better judgment, Chanel agrees and declares that Hester will be moving in with the Chanels because she can keep them from getting killed. Hmm, I don’t know about that. The Chanels throw slumber party at the hospital complete with a makeover montage. They decide to bait The Green Meanie with Chanel #8/Moebius girl, telling her there’s a gift for her hidden in the morgue. While looking for her gift, with The Green Meanie looming, Tristan/Chanel Pour Homme appears saying he deserves it more than her. Being the nice person she is, Chanel #8 leaves Tristan to find the gift. The Chanels find Tristan laying on a morgue table with his guts ripped out.

Munsch invites Nurse Hoffel to her office and fires her, saying she doesn’t like the way she treats the hospital staff, mainly the Chanels. Nurse Hoffel blackmails Munsch, saying she will tell anyone who will listen about Munsch’s disease. Before leaving Hoffel threatens Munsch not to cross her ever again.

When Munsch finds out there’s been another murder in the hospital and that Hester is nowhere to be found, she is livid. She commends Chanels for the idea of bringing new Chanels on board and she has hired three more Chanels to help them work even more efficiently. Introducing Chanel #9, #10, and #11. Munsch then threatens the girls that if she finds out they are hiding Hester, she will report them as accessories to murder, and watch them get fried in the electric chair. Chanel #7 through #11 roam the hallways only to be confronted by The Green Meanie. They all manage to get away, except Chanel #11 who has eleven fingers. The killer does her a solid by chopping off her extra finger but then stabs right through her.

We finally discover Cassidy’s secret weekend plans and that he is the baby in the belly from 1985! Jane tells him that people from the hospital came over earlier and that they know about his dad. Cassidy tells her not to worry and that he will “take care of everything.”

It’s Halloween at the C.U.R.E. Institute and no one is safe from The Green Meanie. Spoilers ahead in my Scream Queens recap for episode 204, “Halloween Blues”.

We begin, literally, in Chanel Oberlin’s throat as she screams to mourn the death of beloved Chad Radwell. Yes, Chad is really dead and I’m not okay. Chanel is lying with Chad’s body in the morgue dressed up in her Jackie Kennedy costume from last year. She doesn’t understand why no one else is peeing in random places to mourn Chad’s death, which she believes is “a major event in our nation’s history.”

Munsch is increasingly concerned that the hospital will get shut down because now people who are not patients are getting killed. I would think if anyone was killed in your hospital that would be a problem. Munsch wants to cure their first patient and Denise makes a very good point that they have cured patients but they all are killed right before they leave. Then Denise makes everyone leave the room so she can follow FBI protocol and examine Chad’s body by herself. That’s not sketchy at all. But Denise was actually going against FBI protocol, she just wanted to be with her “sweet boo.” Just when this couldn’t get any weirder, Denise is curious about rigor mortis and how hard certain parts of Chad’s body has gotten. The flashback of the two of them role-playing Brokeback Mountain is everything. Denise finally leaves but not before running her hand of Chad’s crotch, not once, but twice.

In the basement, Munsch learns that the FBI granted Hester’s transfer to the hospital. She questions Hester on why the pattern of only killing patients has been broken. Hester doesn’t give a straightforward answer but says that massacres tend to happen in this hospital during Halloween and this year was going to be a doozy. To find out who the killer is they need to throw a Halloween party with the staff as bait. Hester is desperate to get out of her cell and wants to be let out for Halloween party. Now, obviously, this would be crazy because Hester would definitely try to kill people if she was out of her cell, but you know it’s going to happen.

Chad’s will is being read to Chanel, Munsch, and Denise who is still wearing her Mrs. Chad Radwell costume AKA Chanel’s wedding dress. Unfortunately, the entire Radwell family was on their way to the hospital to try and stop the wedding in the family’s 747 when the plane crashed killing them all. So now Chad’s will determines where all of the Radwell family fortune goes. That does not seem like a smart decision. Apparently, Chad changed his will the day he died leaving everything to Munsch and the C.U.R.E. Institute “for reasons that are well-known to her.” Well, I wasn’t expecting that. What is Munsch up to? Chanel then gives us her second huge scream of the episode – a long drawn-out slow mo scream as she gets on top of the table and jumps onto the lawyer attacking him.

Chanel-O-Ween is back and more gruesome than ever. Chanel wants to make it clear that she actively hates her fans and is now sending gifts from the hospital biohazard bins and morgue. I loved this Taylor Swift parody in Season One and I think I love it more even now. You would expect that getting a gift of “rancid lipo fat” or “diseased whore hearts” would be terrifying and off-putting but not for these Chanel fans. They love their gifts and they love Chanel.

At the C.U.R.E. Institute, Chanel is being treated for a rash on her arm. Brock believes she has a viral infection caused by high-stress situations that weaken the immune system. That’s what being targeted by serial killers can do to you. Brock gives Chanel a solution of colloidal silver to treat her rash and it ends up doing so much more. Chanel wakes up the next morning and discovers that her skin has turned blue. On the bright side, Number 5 tells her she can go as a blueberry or Smurfette for Halloween.

It’s the night before Halloween and the hospital is gearing up for the lamest party ever. While Denise is hanging up severed limbs as decorations the lights and music suddenly turn off. She is looking around with a flashlight when The Green Meanie appears behind her. The killer gets his knife stuck in the wall and Denise runs away. She starts to throw apples at the killer then pulls out her gun and starts shooting but The Green Meanie gets away. After this confrontation, Denise goes down to visit Hester to tell her she will be released for 24 hours on Halloween. Oh, this is not going to end well.

In Munsch’s office, Chanel barges in accusing Brock of poisoning her with the colloidal silver. Brock doesn’t understand how this could be happening and thinks that someone tampered with the mixture of the solution. Apparently, this reaction is incurable (just like every other case in the C.U.R.E. Institute) but Brock is determined to find a cure. Well, after the party, his ear hair laser removal treatment, and going to the dry cleaner. Chanel wants Brock arrested for assaulting her with silver and probably murdering Chad. Munsch tells Chanel that Brock has an alibi – they were having the “jiffy stiffy” together right before the wedding. Why do older women keep taking Chanel’s men? Well, according to Munsch it’s because she “insists on Snapchatting during sex.”

In the midst of her anger, Chanel storms away and sees someone in a really creepy Ivanka Trump costume. This person doesn’t talk back to her and mimes slashing their throat. “Ivanka” throws an IV stand at Chanel and starts chasing her down the hallway. Just when you think the demise of Chanel Oberlin is eminent, Chanel throws her heel at “Ivanka” and gets away. This person then unmasks themselves and reveals it’s Hester. It turns out that Chanel #5 was going to be Ivanka Trump for Halloween and her costume is missing. Once again, Number 5 is accused of being the killer and denies it. Chanel #3 tells her she can’t go to the Halloween party and if she comes Chanel will kill her.

The Halloween party is finally here and Munsch reminds everyone that they “are not here to have fun” but to draw the killer out. When they are discussing their costumes, “Ivanka” shows up and then Chanel #5 is also there dressed as Ivana Trump. She thought that Ivanka and Ivana were the same person and says “who names their kid after their wife, and just adds a random letter?” You make a very good point there, Number 5. Suddenly, the elevator dings and in come tons of patients all with severe psychosis and vomiting. Everyone was bobbing for apples at a Halloween party, so Brock believes the apples were poisoned. Zayday disagrees and wants more time to talk with the patients.

Elsewhere, Chanel and Denise are using a Ouija board to summon Chad. To know that it’s really Chad and not “the gas lighting bitch Chanel #2 who’s currently getting motorboat in hell by Genghis Khan”, Chanel asks for the name of his goat he secretly keeps at his house. He answers correctly then Chad embodies Denise to talk with Chanel and is about to tell her who killed him but then Zayday interrupts them.

Chanel #5 is carrying IV bags alone in the hallway and “Ivanka” shows up once again. She pulls out a knife but Number 5 thinks it’s Chanel so she keeps rambling. Then, The Green Meanie comes up behind Number 5 and stabs her in the back, so severely that blood is coming out of her mouth. Please don’t take Chanel #5 away from us.

Zayday is talking with a patient from the party saying she ate an apple but didn’t go bobbing for apples. She tells them she noticed someone dressed in a slimey, green swamp costume at the party changing the water the apples were in. The water was poisoned with DMT, the active ingredient in a hallucinogenic drug but, thankfully, no one died from this. But why would the killer do this if it wasn’t to kill a bunch of people? Zayday concludes that he wanted a to create a distraction for the hospital staff.

Chanel #5 is still alive but fighting for her life when she calls out for help and Denise finds her. The Green Meanie was there waiting and throws a bowl of punch on Denise and starts shocking her with a defibrillator. And another fan-favorite bites the dust. Bye Denise, I will miss you so very much. The episode ends with Number #5 still calling out to Denise as she continues to bleed out.

In other Scream Queens news, Ryan Murphy recently did an interview with E! News saying, “Every episode now, someone major is getting killed off,” Murphy reveals. This is not good news at all. Now that Chad and Denise have been killed, who is going to be next?

What did you think of “Halloween”?

This week on Fox’s Scream Queens, Chad thinks he can perform surgery, Chanel is getting married, Cassidy is really dead, and the C.U.R.E. Institute’s newest patient is having endless orgasms! Spoilers ahead in the Scream Queens recap for episode 203.

We pick up right where we left in the last episode with the Chanels standing in the operating room over Tyler’s (the guy with the warts) body. Chanel wants to take his body to a meat locker (because that worked so well the last time). Munsch comes in and as they are all wheeling the body away, she suggests dumping him in the swamp. Yeah, the same swamp that the guy in 1985 was dumped in is still apparently there. When they reach the swamp, Chanel #5 wants to say her goodbyes which result in Tyler’s corpse puking. At first, I thought maybe Tyler wasn’t really dead but there’s no way this show will ever let Chanel #5 be happy.

Elsewhere in the hospital, Chad’s friend Randall thinks he’s cured of Jumping Frenchman of Maine disorder. Of course, no one is around and then The Green Meanie appears in the elevator. Randall thinks it’s a test to tell if he’s really cured so he walks toward our killer. The Green Meanie, wielding a karambit (curved knife) and slashes him up.

The Chanels and Munsch are back at the insane asylum visiting Hester. They tell her that two more people have been killed in the hospital and that Chad’s friend is missing.

Once again Hester tells them that she knows who the killer is but she won’t tell them until her previous demands are met. Munsch holds up a VHS of A Room with a View and tells her she’s never going to leave the asylum. “The killings will only get worse until I get what I want.” So Hester is definitely involved with The Green Meanie, but to what extent? She tells them the body count is about to go up and “The Green Meanie makes The Red Devil look like a girl scout.” I hope Hester realizes that was essentially an insult to herself. As they are leaving Hester tells Chanel her face is looking dry and to get some esrun cream but more on this later.

Chad texts Munsch saying he knows who the killer is. Back in her office, Chad believes that Brock is the killer because his hand came from a serial killer. Brock dismisses this because he can control his hand and Chanel asks him if that’s what happened when they were at the movies. Somehow this conversation of Brock being the killer turns into who Chanel wants to date. She makes the rom-com choice of choosing herself over the two guys vying for her attention. Back to the task at hand (pun intended), Munsch agrees that they need to find a new hand to replace Brock’s transplant, preferably that of someone who is not a serial killer.

Next, we are introduced to the C.U.R.E. Institute’s newest patient, Sheila. She is experiencing almost constant orgasms, by nine a.m. she’s having her fourth since she’s been at the hospital and her 27th of the day. Woah. Sheila says that this is “destroying her life” and that her husband left her because he realized she was always faking it. Cassidy says she is suffering from Persistent Genital Arousal Disorder and her treatment will include a lot of antidepressants. “Like what Sea World gives only their most suicidal orcas.”

Cassidy and Chanel #3 are cleaning up the operating room after Chad was practicing chopping off hands of cadavers. She reveals the secret that she’s never had an orgasm before and she thought they were fake. Cassidy says he also has a secret that he’s never told anyone before, “I’m dead … like actually dead.” Pay attention here: Cassidy recalls going to a high school party where he passed out on his back and choked on his puke. The next morning, he woke up covered in puke and came to the conclusion he must be dead because dogs don’t bark at him anymore. I honestly have no clue if we are supposed to think Cassidy is really dead or if he’s just dumb. This also could have been a trick to get Chanel #3 to kiss him. “Your lips are super cold.”

We are treated to another naked locker room scene with Brock and Chad, who is just “airing out” his scrot. Gross. He brought Brock a list of prospective hand donors who are all still weirdly alive. Who would want to willingly give up one of their hands? Chad also tells Brock he’s going to perform the surgery despite having no surgical or medical experience whatsoever.

Munsch, Zayday, Denise and the Chanels travel to “the house that esrun built” in Florida. This is the home of the only surviving person from the 1986 hospital massacre. Lynn Johnstone was working as a nurse at the hospital but avoided being killed because he was in the bathroom and doing vocalizations to work through the discomfort. TMI dude. When he came out he discovered everyone on the floor was murdered. Lynn was paid $5 million in a non-disclosure agreement by the hospital board to never talk about that night again. He says he knows who did it because he started getting weird phone calls saying things like, “I will come from the swap where you threw all the bodies”, “you have blood on your hands”, and “I’m going to kill again.” He thinks it was the pregnant women whose husband was dumped in the swamp in 1985. But how did Hester know about this guy?

Back at the C.U.R.E. Institute, Munsch says they now have a link between 1986 and today. Denise doesn’t understand why the killings could be happening again because the killer should have already got their revenge in 1986. And also why does the killer only want to go after patients? According to Munsch, the killer only wants the hospital to fail and they can start doing that by killing patients. She thinks the killer is not the pregnant mother, but her son who would be around 30 today. The suspects: Chad, Chamberlain, or Cassidy.

Chad is about to saw a fully awake person’s hand off when Brock and Munsch stop him. Munsch tells them Brock couldn’t possibly be the killer because he’s too old and that Chad is now her prime suspect. Chad asked Chanel to meet him in the park which makes her think he is going to murder her. Good thing she brought her stun gun just in case! Chad tells her he’s been soul-searching because Randall is missing and Brock keeps trying to “get in that box.” All of the sudden, a mariachi band appears and Chad gets down on one knee to…offer Chanel a prenup. If she signs, he will consider marrying her but Chanel takes this as they’re getting married. It’s important to note that Chad totally stole Brock’s idea of proposing to Chanel. In midst of celebrating, Chad sees Brock watching them from a distance, Chad kisses Chanel, looks back and Brock is gone. Ooh, spooky!

Cassidy and Chanel #3 try to figure out Sheila’s condition with #3 getting into the insane yoga pose that Sheila was in when her orgasms started. Cassidy realizes that Sheila’s pudendal nerve was constantly being pressed causing it to fire uncontrollably and causing her endless orgasms. Once Sheila is in surgery and has been cured, Cassidy and Chanel #3 start full-on making out and Sheila is just lying there watching. We then see then in a bedroom about to go at it but #3 asks him to stop. He thinks she isn’t attracted to him which she says isn’t true. The real problem? Cassidy is seriously freezing cold! He even takes his temperature and it reads 61 degrees. Okay, maybe he really is dead? I don’t know anymore.

Chanel is showing off her “29 carats, internally flawless fancy-vivid diamond in the extremely rare whore cut” ring to Zayday, #3, and #5. She asks Chanel #3 and Zayday to be bridesmaids and asks Chanel #5 to be her dog ring bearer. Like actually dress like a dog and wear the rings on her back. Chanel planned the entire wedding that afternoon and it is being held the next day. Shotgun wedding much?

As Zayday and Chamberlain are walking Sheila out of the hospital, none other but The Green Meanie shows up. The killer throws their karambit from a distance and perfectly slices Sheila’s head off. Will there be any patient that gets out of this place alive? The Green Meanie then slashes Chamberlain a couple times but thankfully he’s okay. The killer approaches Zayday, does nothing, and runs away. “Why didn’t he or she come after you?” I want to know the same thing Chamberlain.

She’s baaaaack. Hester is brought to the C.U.R.E. Institute wearing a mask and straight jacket on a dolly. They finally gave in because Hester’s esrun cream lead was helpful. Denise demands that Hester tell them who the killer is before he strikes again and Hester simply replies, “It’s too late.”

It’s also Chanel and Chad’s wedding day, so the killer will definitely take the day off from murdering people right? Nope. Everyone has processed down the aisle and now they are only waiting on Chad. I mean, Chad did say he didn’t think he was cut out to be monogamous but he also said he wouldn’t leave her at the altar like in “Julia Roberts movies or Grey’s Anatomy.”

Chanel notices drops of blood on her pristine white dress and looks up at the ceiling to see a huge blood spot. The ceiling breaks through and poor, dead Chad comes crashing down. But Chad can’t really be dead right? RIGHT?

With next week being the Halloween episode, we are definitely in store for some good stuff. And as Hester says in the preview, “Halloween night massacres happen in this hospital, this year it’s gonna be a doozy!”

The episode opens to the investigation after The Green Meanie sliced poor Catherine’s (formerly Werewolf Girl) head right off and onto Chanel #5’s locked hydrotherapy tank. Number 5 is thankfully alive and well, only to be the prime suspect in Catherine’s murder. We also discover that Catherine’s body is missing and the only her head was left. Number 5 tells the detective there’s no way she could have done it and that there is a killer on the loose. Chanel Oberlin and Chanel #3 agree that Number 5 killed Catherine because she was jealous they got asked out by Brock and Cassidy. And in the fastest murder investigation ever, the detective rules the evidence is inconclusive and tells Number 5 “no more made up stories that aren’t that scary.”

The next day Tyler (Colton Haynes), a new patient to the C.U.R.E. Institute, is seeking help for his genetic condition which has caused growths all over his body. Chanel charmingly asks if he’s “ever tried to pop them” is a treatment available but it requires an expensive CO2 laser which the hospital doesn’t have and Tyler can’t afford to go somewhere that does. Later we see Chanel #5 getting close with Tyler and she tells him that she will find the money for the laser. She even makes him a fundraising video set to Sarah McLachlan. That’s true love right there. But in all seriousness, nothing ever goes right for Number 5 so I wish her and Tyler nothing but happiness. Unfortunately, that definitely won’t happen.

Next, Chanel and Brock are finally able to go on their date to the movies. This is where things are starting to get freaky with Dr. Brock Holt and his mysterious transplanted hand. He puts his arm around Chanel and his hand seems to have a mind of its own. First grabbing at Chanel then taking Twizzlers from the guy sitting behind them. Chanel thinks Brock is imitating a person in the movie with an “out-of-control hand.” Brock says he is because that’s a way easier answer than saying his hand is actually possessed. Of course, Chanel is weirdly turned on by this and they start kissing.

After her date, Chanel is stuck working the graveyard shift at the hospital. She hears screaming and goes to find the source when The Red Devil appears! No worries, it’s only Chad Radwell who wants Chanel back. Fun fact: apparently Chad was also The Red Devil that appeared near Chanel’s bed at the asylum in the final moments of Season One. We then find out the screaming was coming from Chad’s friend Randall who is diagnosed with a condition where he screams uncontrollably. Later, we see Randall receiving treatment at the hospital but he is still very easily scared.

Meanwhile, Zayday and Chamberlain are researching the hospital when they find a genuinely disturbing newspaper article. Another hospital party turns into a straight up massacre of the staff courtesy of The Green Meanie. Even more disturbing – no one was arrested and they never found the person who did it. Then Ingrid Hoffel shows up out of nowhere asking Zayday for detailed information about the Chanels’s schedules, just normal stuff like “where they are during the day” and “when they are alone.” Zayday is definitely suspicious and refuses to help Hoffel.

Brock and Chad are taking showers in the employee locker room, which is weird considering Chad is not employed at the hospital. His reasoning: “I like to stay fresh in case emergency sex pops up.” Because that’s normal. Eventually, they both end up in the same shower stall, “I think our wieners touched accidentally,” where Chad invites Brock to a game of squash ball to see who should really be with Chanel. This has to be the longest and strangest shower scene I have ever seen.

Zayday and Chamberlain then confront Munsch about what they found in the hospital archives and how it could help to find the killer, but Munsch is preoccupied with her own secret. Munsch has been having symptoms including horrible headaches, joint pain, night sweats, and abnormal gait. She tells them that she started the hospital to save her own life and find out what condition she has. I’m not sure I believe that Munsch is actually suffering from some sort of condition, but more to come on this later. Next, we see Munsch walking down a dark hallway with lights flickering. Suddenly The Green Meanie appears and attacks Munsch who fights back with a rolled piece of paper. How is that even possible?! Munsch gets the machete out of reach of The Green Meanie and is about to unmask the killer when Chanel #3 and Cassidy show up and distract her. The elevator dings and the killer is gone.

Munsch enlists the help of Denise Hemphill who tells her to “get in the mind of the killer.” Easier said than done, I think. They bring along Chanel and Number 3 to the insane asylum where my favorite killer is being kept in a glass cased cell. Welcome back, Hester! Hester already knows about the recent attacks, the green slime the killer leaves behind, and how it all connects to the 1986 Halloween party. “The clues are right in front of your face.” In exchange for her help, she wants outdated beauty products and to be transferred to a room with a view at the C.U.R.E. Institute.

Good news for Tyler and all his body growths – Chanel got Chad to pay for the laser. Why? Tyler proved to Chanel that looks didn’t matter since he was willing to date Number 5. This backward Chanel logic declares Number 5 the ugly one in this relationship, but all is well because Tyler can finally receive treatment.

With the help of a private investigator, Chad learns that Brock’s hand was the hand of amazing squash ball player who also was a notorious serial killer. When Chad confronts Brock about his secret, Brock is practicing new techniques on a cadaver. “So now you know my secret, what are you going to do about it?” Chad responds, “Oh, you’ll find out.” Then Brock stabs the poor cadaver out of rage.

Back in the library, Zayday and Chamberlain finally make sense of Munsch’s symptoms. They tell Munsch that she has kuru, which is actually a real disease that cannibals get. Munsch contracted the disease after traveling to New Guinea for her book tour where she went to a fantastic party which turned out to be a funeral. There, she unknowingly ate contaminated brain tissue which was also “the most delicious thing” she has even eaten. Yum. Zayday tells her she has less than a year to live because there is no cure. At the end of the scene, we see a spy bug planted on the underside of Munsch’s desk with Ingrid Hoffel listening in. I’m still not convinced any of this is true because she can’t really be killed off this show right? Munsch can also be very deceptive, so it’s possible she has an ulterior motive.

Tyler and Number 5 are FaceTiming and decide to go right ahead and define their relationship: boyfriend and girlfriend. How sweet. An off-screen person tells Tyler his surgery has been pushed up and they were going to take him to the operating room. Number 5 is confused and asks Chanel and Number 3 what was going on. Turns out, Tyler’s surgery couldn’t have been moved because Brock and Cassidy were at home having a “handsome contest.” The Chanels run to save him but they were too late. So yeah, Tyler was taken into surgery by The Green Meanie who lasered him to death. “Ladies, we have another serial killer on our hands.”

Scream Queens returns in two weeks with more Hester, Chanel Oberlin possibly getting married, and Cassidy revealing the secret that he’s really dead. Looks like we’re in for another great episode!
