John was born on the island of Crete in Greece and came to the United States with his family when he was 2. The family settled in Chester, Pennsylvania where his parents operated a restaurant.

He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in Theater Arts before enlisting in the US Navy. He was an intelligence officer on active duty in Panama, attaining the rank of lieutenant commander by the time his service ended.

Aniston began acting in 1962 with arole on 87th Precinct. He went on to roles in many TV series and movies such as Love with The Proper Stranger, I Spy, Mission: Impossible, That Girl, and Kojak, before his start in daytime. His first soap roles were on Days of Our Lives, as Dr. Eric Richards for one episode in 1970 and then as Eddie Aleata for one episode of Love of Life, in 1975. He joined Search for Tomorrow in 1980 as Martin Tourneur, a role he played until 1984.

In July of 1985, he returned to Days of Our Lives as Victor Kiriakis, a part he played until his death. He received a Daytime Emmy nomination in 2017 for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. In 2022 he received the Daytime Emmys Lifetime Achievement Award, which was accepted on his behalf by his daughter, actress Jennifer Aniston.

His career spanned 60 years and included appearances on many othershows, including, Airwolf, Diagnosis Murder, Star Trek: Voyager, The West Wing, Gilmore Girls, Cold Case, and Mad Men.

John Aniston is survived by his wife, Sherry Rooney, stepson, John T. Melick, daughter, Jennifer Aniston, son, Alexander Aniston, and his grandchildren.

Nik catches Esme looking for ways to escape and tells her it won’t do any good. She tries to convince him that she’s not the killer, but he asks her if that’s true, why did the killings stop when he locked her away?

Holly Furthers Her Deception!

Victor is forcing Holly to help him with the threat of hurting someone she loves. Emma Samms said he has a hostage whose fate “matters the most to her.” She is relieved when Robert is ready to share information with her but has to hide her frustration when they are interrupted.

Laura comes back to town and suggests Holly see Kevin since she is suffering from amnesia and Holly snaps at her. Will this trigger Laura, or Robert’s suspicions? Holly hopes not or it could have tragic consequences for Victor’s prisoner!

Valentin’s Plan to Save Anna

Valentin comes back to Port Charles with Charlotte and Laura and immediately heads to the PCPD to see Anna. He knows his father is behind the charges against her and vows to help her. Anna lets him know she is being transferred to Pentonville that night so the clock is ticking on him getting her out.

Promo Recap: A November They’ll Remember Or Try To Forget!

Tony and Anna walk in on an unconscious Susan being dragged away. Alex comes for Stephanie. Stefan tells Chloe he wants to make her forget Brady before kissing her. Nicole tells Eric she stills loves him and they share a kiss which Jada witnesses Later Jada collapses in front of Rafe who gets her to the hospital and calls Eric. Shawn interrupts Abe and Paulina’s election celebration party to arrest Chanel for murder!

Chanel Is Arrested!

Abe and Paulina both win on election day. Abe announces he will step down as mayor to move to the capital with Paulina, who has just been elected governor. During Paulina’s speech, Shawn arrives and arrests Chanel for murder!

Chanel has no idea she murdered anyone and is very confused and shaken. Belle offers to defend her but since it is too late for a bail hearing, Chanel has to spend the night in jail!

Chloe And Stefan Get Closer

Chloe kisses Stefan in her desperation to forget the pain Brady caused her but quickly pulls back when she realizes what she is doing. Stefan pushes her to move on with him since Brady has moved on with Kristen, but Chloe is cautious. She doesn’t know if either her or Stefan can trust his feelings for her, especially since he hurt her in the past.

He immediately knows his father was behind the arrest and that was the reason for the trip his father sent him on. He tries to figure out a way to keep his daughter safe and also rescue Anna. He tries to attack the guard Victor put on him but the guard gets the upper hand until someone surprising comes to his rescue!

Promo Recap: Will They? Won’t They? Will He? Won’t He?

Alex encourages Nicole and Eric to pose together for provocative promo pictures. Wendy assures Chanel that her and Johnny are just friends, but Johnny has more in mind. Sarah thinks Zander is looking for legitimate work, but Ava has something more nefarious in mind. On her orders, Zander agrees to kidnap Susan and sneaks up behind her with a cloth in his hand!

Stephanie Asks Alex To Dinner

After she is fired by Paulina, Alex comes up with a plan to help Stephanie get her job back. As Chad is comforting Stephanie, Alex seduces Sloane and steals the file containing the blackmail, covertly handing it off to Maggie when she interrupts them in bed together. Stephanie is shocked but thankful and thaws a little when it comes to Alex.

Stephanie gives Paulina the file and gets her job back. Chad learns that Alex is the one who helped Stephanie and when Alex confronts Chad over his feelings for her, Chad admits he is not ready to move on from his dead wife Abigail and there is no future for him and Stephanie. Stephanie overhears them and later asks Alex to dinner to thank him for helping her.
